Why keep travel expenses separate?
On a trip, spending can be fast, in another currency and across two cards. Mixing it into your monthly budget makes groceries and bills harder to track among restaurants and excursions, and can exhaust monthly limits on the first day.
In Мы, a trip has its own wallet. Its entries stay separate from your main budget, and you can archive it when you return.
How trips work in Мы
- Create a tripChoose a name, such as “Turkey 2026”, a currency and an average exchange rate against your main budget currency. Dates are optional.
- Record expenses in the local currencyEnter an amount, category and date, with an optional comment and receipt photo. The amount field includes a calculator: you can type 450+120.
- Your partner sees the entry straight awayThe entry appears for the other person without reloading. If notifications are enabled, they also receive a push notification.
- See the equivalent in your main currencyBelow the trip balance, the app shows an approximate amount in your main currency using your exchange rate.
Currency and exchange rate
Each trip has its own currency. Available options include rubles, dollars, euros, pounds, tenge, lari, dram, manat, Turkish lira, baht, UAE dirham, yuan, yen, won, Indian and Indonesian rupees, dong, Egyptian pound, Serbian dinar, zloty, Czech koruna, forint, franc, shekel, Belarusian ruble, hryvnia and Moldovan leu.
You enter the exchange rate yourself, for example the rate used when exchanging cash. The app does not fetch a live rate, so conversions can reflect what you actually paid rather than a market rate on the purchase date.
Who spent how much?
If you both pay during the trip, Participant balances shows each person’s recorded income and expenses in that wallet. If a recorded balance differs from the actual money, you can correct it: the app adds an adjustment entry rather than rewriting the history.
You can also hide a gift expense during a trip using “Hide from partner” and set a date for it to be revealed automatically.
Travel categories and limits
- Trips have their own categories, separate from the main budget: accommodation, transport, food or excursions, as you prefer.
- Travel categories can have monthly limits. Warnings appear at 80% and when a limit is exceeded. The same limit amount applies across trips; you cannot set a different amount for each trip.
- For details on limits and spending pace, see Spending limits.
Travel budget questions
Is the exchange rate fetched automatically?
No. Enter it when creating a trip. You can use an average cash exchange rate or the rate shown by your bank. You can change it in trip settings at any time.
Can I manage several trips at once?
Yes. Each trip has its own name, currency and exchange rate. Switch between trips and your main budget with one button, and archive a trip when it is over.
Is this suitable for a trip with friends?
A Мы space is designed for two; a third person cannot join it. For a larger group, a bill-splitting app is a better fit.
Are travel limits separate?
Yes. Trips have their own categories and monthly limits, separate from the main budget. The same limit amount applies across trips; you cannot set a different amount for each trip.
What the app does not do
Мы does not connect to your bank or import statements: you record expenses yourself. You can still add an expense offline, for example on a flight; it is saved on your phone and sent when the connection returns. Tickets and bookings have no dedicated storage, but you can record them as ordinary trip expenses.
